The Di Fiore team

Trained at Dessange, on rue de la Plaine — a few doors down from his father's shop. An apprenticeship in women's hairdressing, then seven years in a ladies' salon. In 2003 he joined Rosario part-time: that is where he learned men's hairdressing and the barber's craft, from his father.

He claims no speciality, and that is precisely what defines him: long hair or short, trimmed beard or full beard, he does it all. His training in women's hairdressing gives him an ease with length that few barbers have.

What he likes best: when a client gives him three words to describe what he wants, and the smile in the mirror at the end confirms he read them right.

Thirty-two years in the trade, begun in Lecce, in Puglia. He started in a hair salon, then specialised. He joined the Di Fiore team on 3 June 2025, on a friend's recommendation.

Clients ask him for everything, but two things come up more often than the rest: beards and zero fades — these also by many children, who leave with the fade they wanted.

He loves his craft, especially the moment when the client looks at himself and takes the time to admire the result.

Trained in Turin, Italy, at fifteen, in a men-only salon. Thirty-three years later, it is still his territory: men's hair and beard, nothing else, and a mastery that comes from that.

He joined Di Fiore in September 2024, almost by chance: he wanted to leave Italy and was looking for a salon, Rosario was looking for an experienced hairdresser. He says it is fate.

He handles everything a client asks for, from haircuts — all styles, all trends — to beard care. What he loves: that the client leaves happy to have chosen him.

At first glance, he may look like a classic hairdresser. Give him free rein and it is something else: the imagination and creativity he owes to his Italian training.

Founder of the Di Fiore house, which his son John has done much to grow and make known. The longest-serving hairdresser in Yverdon-les-Bains, he has cut the hair of four generations of the same family.

He took up the trade because one had to have one. It became a passion: always trying to do better. What brings him back to the chair is seeing his clients again, and that little something in their eyes when the work is done and they are happy.

He has seen the trade change — once a cut or two and that was that, today a multitude of styles to master. What has not changed: the welcome and the respect owed to the client.

Retired, he is never far away: he comes back to support John whenever the salon needs him, and still handles part of the paperwork.
